After his mother passed away, Okazaki Tomoya didn't have good relationship with his father. One of their fight resulted in Tomoya's injury on the right hand, causing he had to give up his dream in playing basketball.

The story is not about basketball nor Tomoya's dad. CLANNAD anime begins when one morning Tomoya met a girl named Furukawa Nagisa on his way to school.

Soon, Tomoya spend many days with Nagisa, trying to help her re-establishing drama club. Along the way, many things happened and their path came across Fujibayashi's sisters (Kyou and Ryou), the genius Ichinose Kotomi, the starfish lover Ibuki Fuuko, the strong Takagami Tomoyo, and also Tomoya's best friend - Sunohara Youhei.

I find this anime romantic in a different way. It opens our eyes that human feelings can do much more than what we can imagine. Adapted from a game, this anime is a must-see for it's high quality animation, beautiful storytelling, and very good sense of humor. Recommended for all ages. My rating : excellent.
