Feeling bored, a shinigami (Death God) named Ryuk drops his Death Note into human world. Writing a person's name in the Death Note while picturing the face of the person will kill the person. Interestingly, the cause of death, the time of death, and the action taken by the person before he/she dies can also be controlled in the Death Note.

And so a high-school student named Yagami Light finds the Death Note. Light decides to create a perfect world without criminals using the Death Note. And so he begins his journey giving "punishment to all the criminals reported in TVs and internet.

Light is no ordinary student. With his super brilliant brain, he plans everything to make his way to be the world's new "God".

The news is rapidly spreading. Soon, the world suspects that all those mysterious deaths are controlled by a person; a mass murder. People and media give this "murder" a nickname : Kira (a Japanese way to say killer). Yet no one can proove that Kira actually exists.

L, the legendary detective who never failed in solving a case, decides to help the investigation to catch Kira. And the battle between Kira and L begins.

A battle of brain. Amazing strategies and deductions. One of the best strategy anime I've ever watched. I tried to make my review as simple as possible in this page. The actual story is far more complicated and more interesting. =)

Originally taken from a manga. Also available in live action movie. Recommended for all ages. My rating : excellent.
