Long time ago in human history, there was a legend about some powerful beings who can do "impossible" things. They can manipulate wind, water, fire and earth.

Witches, that's what humans call those beings. Due to their extraordinary power, some people worship them, some hate them. Enough hatred to kill them.

And as time flows, we no longer hear a news about wicthes. They became legends. They became ideas for fictions and human stories.

Modern day era, a theory discovered that technology has finally found a way to make particle manipulation possible. A "modern witch" can manipulate particles with her specific DNA. In other words, magic can be done by science.

One accident happened. A scientist died. The theory was declared as failed. And the research was terminated.

Our story starts from a young girl named Ellis. An unknown source put a large bounty money on her catch, dead or alive. So Ellis was chased by bounty hunters and had to run from city to city.

Destiny introduced Ellis with Nadie, a young bounty hunter who ended up protecting Ellis in her journey to the south to an eternal place named Wiñay Marka.

If you like Noir and Madlax, then this anime is definitely a must-see. Another incredible work of mystery anime. Recommended for 17+ (some violence and murder scenes). My rating : excellent.
