A very well known anime. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Evangelion (1993-2003), this page was made for all Evangelion fans ^_^
In 2000 AD, a very large explotion has killed half of human population. This tragedy is called second impact (first impact occurs when a comet destroy all dinosaurs on earh centuries ago).
The story begin at 2015 AD, large mysterious objects called "angel" appear and attack human population. If the angels win, the third impact will happen. This impact will destroy all mankind completely. The last defence of human race depends on a bio-technology named "Evangelion". Evangelion (Eva) is the only mankind creation which is able to destroy angel.
Every Eva has to be controlled by a 14 year old child. There are 3 pilots found : Ayanami Rei (First Child), Asuka Langley Soryuu (Second Child), and Ikari Shinji (Third Child).
Lately, more pilots were discovered, more Eva units were built. All from different sources and mysterious purposes.
Rei, Shinji, and Asuka has to deal with their own inner battle while at the same time doing some physical battle against the angles.
17 angels has been terminated. Has the problem solved? Can mankind live in peace now? Who and what are angels? Who and what are Evangelions? What is life? Why do we live? Who are we?
Neon Genesis Evangelion is a very deep meaning story. It may bring different understandings for each person who watches this. The great name of Evangelion has raised the value of anime in the beginning of 90's. This article is made to show my respect for this masterpiece.
Recommended for age 13+ (some scenes required very deep thinking). My rating : very good.
