To be honest, my first reason to watch this anime is only because Kajiura Yuki is the one who arranged the music. I really like her music!

But after the first few episodes, I began to realize how great my decision to choose this anime. A nice combination of interesting characters, great music, and incredible storyline.

Tokiha Mai is starting her days in a new school named Fuuka Academy. Together with her sicky little brother, they have great dream and expectation about their new school.

After a little "accident" on a ship, Mai discovered that Fuuka Academy is gathering several girls with special power called HiME. And she's one of them.

Each HiME has different power, different weapon, and a monster under her control called "a child". HiMEs are using their power to fight mysterious monsters called orphans, which can appears in different forms and doing evil things.

Is that all? Are HiMEs destiny is to fight orphans? And then who is First District organization? Who is Searrs Organization? What is their role? Who is the real evil behind all of these?

When a HiME lost her "child", a bitter consequence will occur. Apparently, they are not putting their own life on risk, they're putting the life of the most dear person to them !

I must say this is one of the greatest anime story I've ever know. Friendship, romance, love, sacrifice, betrayal, mecha, magic, politics, secret scheme, all characteristics of a story, you name it. Recommended for age 18 or more. My rating : very excellent.
