One boy, three girls. Yes, this is a story about love. But this is far from harem-type anime. True Tears presents us with something more "human" with all the feelings, happiness, jealousy and pain.
After her parents died in an accident, Hiromi lives with Shinichiro. Hiromi's father was Shinichiro's father's friend. And now fate brings Shinichiro to live together with her childhood friend, with the girl he likes since long ago.
Time passes by, having a good chance to get closer, Shinichiro can not even properly talk to Hiromi who live under the same roof. While Hiromi is a very talented basketball player and an active girl at school, she is very quiet and withdrawn at home.
A weird girl named Noe met Shinichiro when she climbed a tree and afraid to go down. With her "unique" personality, Noe and Shinichiro becomes closer. Until Shinichiro confesses to her and make her the first girlfriend in his life.
Another childhood friend, Aiko, also has a crush on Shinichiro. She agreed to date Miyokichi (Shinichiro's best friend) just to be able to stay close to Shinichiro. Until one day she can't hide her feelings anymore.
Friendship, jealousy, love. Believe me that the actual story is far much more complicated and more interesting than my review above. Sorry I had to keep some of the detail to avoid giving you too much spoiler. Recommended for all ages. My rating : excellent.
SPOILER ALERT !

I like Noe ! She's my favourite character in this anime. She's a bit "unique", but she's also charming and lovable in her own way.
Many fans of her became disappointed when Shinichiro chooses Hiromi in the last episode.
I hate Shinichiro's parting scene with Noe! They should have at least make it sweeter, or memorable. But that's just my opinion. =P
To me, Hiromi wins Shinichiro's heart because she already has it since the first place ! They are (maybe) a perfect couple because they are both too scared to express their own feeling to each other.
Poor Ai-chan, she already lose before it even started.
For Noe, I believe she deserves someone much better than Shinichiro ^^
